"The political situation in Syria is very difficult. Whatever you do
in Syria you are investigated by the secret police. In order to make
this film I had to move around keeping a very low profile, pretending I
was one of the few travelers venturing there. Nevertheless the men of
the secret police were literally everywhere, questioning me about all

breeding population of Atlantic giant bluefin tuna has suffered a 90%
decline in the last 30 years. Such a decline should come as no surprise,
considering the lucrative economics involved; single bluefin tuna have
sold for over $100,000. But what will it take to bring back a healthy
breeding population, without ruining the livelihood of those who depend
on bluefin revenues? |

Once the supply of fish in the area began to dwindle, they looked for another source of income. They realized that the Whale Sharks which populate the area would be a huge draw to tourists. They have successfully converted their economy to ecotourism and are now protecting the world's biggest fish, the Whale Shark. |
