About EarthVision

We wish to invite you to join in support of one of Santa Cruz's most unique events, EarthVision International Environmental Film Festival. EarthVision is a local environmental film and video festival now in its ninth year.

The focus of the festival has to do with using film and video as tools for raising environmental awareness and uncovering environmental issues. The films shown at EarthVision are the work of passionate individuals with cameras who have documented crucial environmental problems and attempts to solve them. For the most part, they are grassroots efforts made from the sweat of volunteers that represent a broad spectrum of environmental situations from diverse points of view.

EarthVision is a nonprofit, community effort, locally organized and funded. Support for the festival comes from local businesses, organizations and individuals. In the past, many of the films have been produced by community members or address issues with local impact. The films are powerful educational tools for Santa Cruz, as entries are shown throughout the year on Community Television of Santa Cruz County.

We are searching for funds to help ensure the continued success of this project. We are currently working with a modest budget of around $12,000. The festival has a history of support from the local community, which we hope to continue. We believe contributions to the festival are an excellent opportunity for individuals to show support for the environment, while at the same time contributing to the ongoing effort to honor the diverse people who have committed their lives to protecting their world.
