 Included is the rise of the labor movement, and the socio-economic and environmental impact of the mining industry evident in the scared hillsides, polluted streams, and dying villages. Conclusions document the efforts to rectify this devastating legacy.

The Clavey River Watershed, located on the western slopes of California's Sierra Nevada Range, and a local collaborative effort to protect the health of the watershed. Presents the Clavey River watershed as a unique and important ecological system worthy of protection and local stewardship. This short documentary offers a distinctive and well-written narration of the pre-history, history and modern-day Clavey River watershed over visually stunning footage. Footage includes aerial views as well as on the ground close-ups and vistas showing significant aspects of the watershed. Produced for the Clavey River Ecosystem Project (CREP),a community collaboration created to assess and protect the health of the watershed.

River Lab  29:20  (U.S.A.  Connecticut)
A grassroots organization in Connecticut realizes that environmental education directed at children can be more effective than political advocacy. River-Lab, the resulting education program integrated into local schools, is developed and taught primarily by parents and other volunteers, rather than teachers. By involving parents (and other family members and members of the community), the program teaches not only the children, but also the volunteers, as well as the community at large. The documentary shows how one person with vision and dedication can make a difference.
